ouroboros

An illustration of a snake eating its own tail as a poster in a frame leaning against a wall.

Ouroboros was a self-initiated illustration project inspired by Paramore’s song, “Figure 8.”

The lyrics read,
All for your sake
Became the very thing that I hate

I lost my way
Spinnin’ in an endless figure
What remains
And now I think I’m losing my shape
Not a trace

No end and no beginning, figure eight.”

The intensity of the song reminded me of ouroboros, which is an ancient symbol of either a dragon or a snake eating it’s own tail.
